THE NATURAL SOURCE?
You mainly get vitamin D from two sources; the sun and your diet. The primary source is the sun and this is where you need to absorb the majority of your vitamin D needs. However, it is extremely difficult to meet your daily needs if you are not in direct sunlight on a daily basis. To cover your vitamin D needs, you will have to spend minimum 15 minutes in direct sunlight between 11-15 on a daily basis ( with no sunscreen). In this time frame many are either at work, in school or at day care, which makes it very difficult for many to fulfill.
Based on the fact that our lifestyle in many cases prevents us from covering our vitamin D needs, health authorities around the world have assessed that there is a need for a daily supplement to ensure optimal support of the body development.
